FAQs

Can we live here all year round?

The Elms is a fully residential park so our residents enjoy peace of mind knowing they can occupy their home all year round and furthermore will benefit from all the security of tenure offered by the Written Statement under Mobile Homes Act 1983.

Can our grandchildren stay?

One of the joys of The Elms is the beautiful grounds within which you can enjoy walks and wildlife with your friends and family who visit.  There is no limit to how long your family may stay with you.

Can I use my home as a holiday home?

In order to protect the peace and tranquillity of The Elms we do not permit the homes to be used for holiday purposes or for sub-letting and so on.  Your home at The Elms would be your main UK residence.  Many of our residents are lucky enough to have a second home abroad or simply enjoy the freedom to travel knowing that when they return they will find everything here as they left it.

Can we bring our dog?

The Elms is a ‘No Pets’ park.

Are there any shops on The Elms?

We do not have a shop on The Elms.  We have gone one step better and have invited a handful of select producers to visit the park weekly.  We have a butcher and baker, a green grocer, a fish monger and there is a regular milk round and newspaper round.  We do also have a Post Office shop in Torksey and in the next village at Laughterton.  Saxilby is a 10 minute drive away and offers many conveniences.  The residents run their own minibus which offers an additional out reach into the community.  There is also a regular bus route into both Gainsborough and Lincoln.

Where is the nearest Doctor’s?

We have built a Medical Centre in the village of Torksey itself which runs a regular daily surgery.  It is well within walking distance of The Elms.

Where is the nearest town?

Lincoln is our largest local town being approximately 14 miles/20 minutes’ drive away.  Approximately 6 miles/15 minutes in the opposite direction is Gainsborough with the newly redeveloped Marshalls Yard shopping facility.

How much does it cost to live in a Park Home on The Elms?

The cost of living in a park home can obviously vary depending on the size of home chosen and other varying factors. However, every year we put together average figures based on our residents usages to give visitors an idea on the cost for pitch fees, gas, electric and water for each size home here on The Elms. For the most up to date information on living costs, please get in touch and we can happily post this out to you.
