Our Residents

We have so many residents here who would be more than happy to tell you how happy they are and what a wonderful place The Elms is for your retirement, if you come for a visit you may very well bump into some of them on your way round. However, below are just a few of our residents and what they have to say about life on The Elms.

Our Resident Mr Bennett

Mr Bennett

I previously knew nothing about park homes before moving to The Elms in 2003, my friend had mentioned it to me and so I looked into the idea. After viewing many different parks, The Elms was the last to view. After only 10 minutes of looking round the show home with Ann, I had started the paperwork to buy one! That is how sure I was that this was the place for me.

The Kinch family have always been very friendly and welcoming and make it a pleasure to live here. After moving from a town, I love the peace and quiet that The Elms offers and I honestly can’t think of anything that I dislike about living here and would recommend it to anyone.

Village Residents Mr and Mrs Butler

Mr & Mrs Butler

We moved to the Elms in 2012 after living in Staffordshire for 46 years – a big step for us at aged 75 and 70 years, but one we have never regretted.  Although we have only lived here for a comparatively short time, we feel as if we have never lived anywhere else.  On our first visit to the Elms, we knew this was where we wanted to live and how right we were.

Our home is fantastic, our neighbours lovely and everyone is so friendly and helpful.  The warmth and friendliness of the Elms weighs heavily in its favour!  The site itself is wonderful, beautifully maintained, stunning parkland and so pleasant to walk around Summer, Winter rain or shine.

There are plenty of activities and groups to join if you wish such as fishing, history, computer and gardening clubs to name but a few.  We found these groups a very useful way to meet new people and find out about the area.

If we won the lottery would we move – NO WAY!  At the Elms we are safe, secure and help is at hand should we need it.

Most importantly to us our quality of life at the Elms is fantastic – we do more now than we have ever done – long may it continue!

Living Independently For Seniors

Mr & Mrs Bickley

We found The Elms whilst surfing the net and on our first visit, knew we had found what we were looking for, even before crossing the front gates.

Obviously to make the move we first needed to sell our existing home, which was on the market but struggling to attract a buyer. Ann told us about the part exchange scheme that they offered so immediately we enquired further. The whole process was very quick and convenient and from the acceptance of an offer it took just four weeks to complete.

We were thoroughly impressed with Silverbridge Properties (the part exchange specialists) and The Elms, and we are thoroughly enjoying our retirement on this amazing residential park.

Couple Living The Park Home Life

Mike & Betty Pritchard

We moved to The Elms over 13 years ago, Mike used to come fishing nearby, so he knew about all about the park from talking to fellow fishermen who were already residents here. I took some persuading that park home living would be a good option for our retirement, but Mike persuaded me to come down and have a look and I really liked it here, so we eventually decided to make the move.

Over the years we have become friends with many other residents here, including a small group of us who go away together. We love the location of the park, plus the security  and peace of mind that goes with park home living.

The staff are also very friendly and helpful and we like the fact that the park is family-run. In fact it’s so good here that my brother has moved to a home here as well.

Another one of Our Parkhome Residents

Sally Young

I moved to The Elms 3 years ago as a 50 year old widow and it is one of the best decisions I could have made. I have formed some great friendships here and there are plenty of activities to get involved in. Living on my own, I in no way feel isolated and feel very safe and secure due to it being a gated community, plus having less outgoings has meant I have been able to semi-retire and enjoy life and the lovely surroundings I live in.

I absolutely love living at The Elms and it’s not just for ‘oldies’!  When I first thought of retirement parks I imagined that everyone would be quite old, but that is not the case here, there are many at a similar age to myself and many of the older residents have been here for a considerable number of years and are still loving every minute!
